Marjorie bought some vegetables and rock salt from the local market and then went to her favorite pastry shop- Cupcake Heaven- to buy a dozen cupcakes for her parents. She was leaving the city to visit her parents’ holiday house in Montauk. She had not seen her parents in a long time, and she had just received a break from her work. After eating breakfast with her best friend, she took a train and traveled two hours to Montauk. It was late November, so the weather was cold and the beach was grey and beautiful. Her father had got them a lot of old movies to watch over the weekend, and her mother had cooked some delicious food. She had missed her parents. They looked well. They were recently retired. Her mother had been a lawyer at a top law firm, while her father was a writer and scholar. They were very well off, and their house in Montauk was beautiful and elegant.
