DVD workouts can be a fantastic way to get in shape, especially if you are stuck at home being a mom, working from home or have no vehicle. Students often have access to gyms, but they can be a cheap way to get in killer exercise without having the expenses of gyms, equipment, travel, time and even shoes!

It is hard to compare exercise programs on DVD because they are targeting different markets – some of the P90x workouts are about 90 minutes long!

My theory that when it comes to DVD workout programs is that if you pick one that matches up to your current abilities and your time constraints and stick to it – the results between each one differ little.

For men looking to build explosive power and strength in the chest muscles, plyometrics are one of the best options. Plyometrics are quite different from standard resistance training exercises. They require quick bursts of power and are generally not appropriate for those starting out. They are also not appropriate for many people with arthritis and/or people who have had serious injuries to joints. For those who can do plyometrics however, they are one of the best ways to build up power in the chest muscles.

One of the most simple ways to do plyometrics for the chest is based on the concept of a simple push-up. Plyometric push-ups are some of the best chest exercises for men looking to increase power output in the pectoral muscles. To do the plyometric version of this exercise, one simply enters into the position that one assumes when doing a normal push-up. Rather than going up and down in a slow and controlled manner however, the person doing them pushes themselves up off the floor with such explosive power that the hands temporarily leave the ground. The person then proceeds to do as many repetitions as possible without stopping. Those who do this movement will find that they can do far fewer than standard push-ups do to the increased power output required to move the body up off the ground completely.

There is a another great way to work the chest muscles using plyometrics. The plyometric push-up exercise can also be done with two standard fitness steps placed about shoulder width apart. The person doing the movement does everything the same as it is done in the previously described exercise, with the main difference being that the person is able to get a greater range of motion with a deeper stretch in the pectoral muscles due to the use of the steps.

Plyometrics exercises are great for building speed and power in muscles. They are not appropriate for everyone so make sure to check with your doctor before engaging in any exercise program. Also make sure to check with a good certified personal trainer before beginning any exercise you are unfamiliar with.

Cheer leading has always been a passion of mine, so when I was not able to cheer anymore, I knew I needed to coach. If there was one thing I could teach them, it was just exactly how to jump higher and land them when you come down. I learned through my many years of cheering and drill team that jumping high is something you have to practice. There are certain ways to jump properly to make sure you not only do it safely but you get more air than anyone else.

I am sure that we will be able to get to the finals now. Every year we get beat by a few points alone, but I do not think that will happen this year. I truly think that we have a chance to go far. I am not trying to toot my own horn because I am their coach, but I think that has alot to do with it.

Can anyone tell me how to get abs? I’ve been trying for a while to get a sexy midsection, however I’ve been having a really difficult time reducing my body fat. I’ve been doing plenty of aerobic exercises and various crunches, however it’s just been quite difficult.

I’ve been reading how important it is to eat properly when dieting, but even that hasn’t really helped. I don’t know if I’m still eating too much or if I’m not eating the proper foods. Either way it’s getting rather annoying and I could use help with how to get abs quick.

While we’re at it, it’d be great to get advice on recipes that are quick and easy to make to assist me with getting a flat stomach. Also is it true that there are foods that can help with getting a flatter stomach?

Again, I’d appreciate the assistance. I really want to get in the proper shape by summer time. I’m planning on going to Miami Beach so it’d be great to have those fantastic abs soon!
